Poem - Hannah Chatwin

My Boy
By Hannah Chatwin

No Mother near to close his eyes
Far from his native land he lies
He has bourn his cross he gained his crown
Though he sleeps in a far-off place
As we think of his life his duty done
Manly unselfish and brave

Killed in Action - said the cable

That was all the tale it told
Of the brave young lad who loved us
Of the son I loved so well.
